Rework, credit and refund policy
inflpanjlott.com does not sell products. We take your parts, finish them, and send them back — so there is no parcel to return to a warehouse and no stock to restock. What follows is the honest version of what happens when something is not right, including the cases where the honest answer is "we cannot refund that" and why.
1. If the work misses the agreed specification
This is the straightforward case and it is the one we care most about. If the finished parts fall outside the specification agreed in the quote or order, and the cause is ours, inflpanjlott.com reworks the affected parts at no charge, or issues a credit note for them.
To use it, call us with the job number before the parts are consumed, cut, assembled or plated over. Send the parts back as they arrived, with the report that came with them, and we will inspect and either rework or replace. Parts that have been welded, drilled, plated a second time or put into service cannot be reworked, and we will tell you that on the phone rather than after three weeks of silence.
2. If the result is not what you expected, but the specification was met
Finishing has a range, and sometimes a customer wants a different point in that range than the one they specified. A satin that reads glossier than expected, a colour that is close but not exact, a texture that feels different under the hand. If the readings on the report match the order, the work is compliant, and a change of mind is not a defect.
That said, we would rather keep the work than argue about it. Where a rework would cost less than the value of the relationship, inflpanjlott.com will often offer a partial credit toward the next batch rather than have you shop around. That is a commercial decision, not an obligation, and we do not pretend otherwise.
3. Deposits and fixture work
Custom fixturing, jigs and one-off tooling are paid for before the batch is scheduled, because that money has already been spent by the time you see the first article. Those amounts are not refundable once the fixture has been manufactured and used on your parts. This is stated on the quote, in advance, every time.
If we cancel a job after the fixture is built for a reason on our side, the fixture cost is credited. If you cancel, the fixture cost stands, because it has been made for you and cannot be sold to anyone else.
4. Prepayment on large batches
Where a large batch is prepaid, the money is committed to buying media, chemicals, oven time and labour. If the job is cancelled after the batch has entered production, the work already performed is invoiced and the remaining balance is refunded or credited. inflpanjlott.com will not refund work that has been carried out on your parts.
We would rather tell you this in a quote than discover it in a dispute, so prepayment arrangements are always written down with exactly this wording.
5. Rush charges
A rush charge buys a place on the second shift. It buys a priority in the queue, not a different result. Rush charges are non-refundable once the shift has been staffed and the lot has been started, because the shift is real and the operator is already working.
6. Customer-supplied defects
There are situations where the finished part cannot meet the specification and the cause is not our process. The most common are an incorrect or incomplete drawing, a part with hidden internal stress that moves as stock is removed, a material described incorrectly, or a tolerance that ignores how much material the process removes.
In those cases inflpanjlott.com explains what we found, with the measurements that show it, and quotes the rework. We do not quietly absorb a job that was mis-specified in the first place, and we do not blame a customer to avoid a conversation. You get the readings and a straight answer.
7. Damage in transit
Packing and carriage are ours unless you have arranged your own freight. Report transit damage within five working days of delivery and send photographs of the outer packaging as well as the part, because transit claims are decided on packaging evidence. Once the packaging has been discarded we have nothing to work from, and neither does a carrier.
8. What cannot be refunded, stated plainly
- Fixture and tooling costs, once manufactured and used
- Work already carried out on your parts
- Rush charges once the shift has started
- Costs already incurred in materials and consumables
- A result that met the written specification but did not match an expectation that was never stated
No exceptions and no small print, because there is no small print. Those five lines are the policy.
9. How to raise a claim
Call +1 (305) 471-9286 with the job number from the report, or email info@inflpanjlott.com. Tell us which part failed, what the specification said and what you measured. inflpanjlott.com will come back with a decision and, if the claim is ours to fix, a date for the rework rather than a promise to look into it.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy applies to work ordered on or after the date below. Jobs already in progress are handled under the terms agreed when the order was placed, which is a promise we make deliberately — we do not change the rules on a job that is already halfway through the tank.
